What is a Responsible Product?
Vastly Different Solutions prides itself on developing responsible alternatives to everyday household products. BioLighter is a healthier and sustainable solution to mainstream lighter fluid. Biolighter is helping consumers have better barbecues while having a minimal impact on the environment. Every step in the production of Biolighter has been closely examined to reduce waste and create a responsible product. Sourcing Bio-Fuels: The biggest issue in Biofuels is the argument of Food VS. Fuel. As pioneers in the Bio-fuels industry, Biolighter understands this conundrum. That is why we decided to make Biolighter with locally produced, recycled food grade oil and a proprietary mixture of other food grade oils/alcohols. We have found a way to take consumer waste, and turn it into a product that works better than the competition. oh yeah, and its almost pollution free!
Manufacturing: When looking at the manufacturing, the biggest problem was the proximity of manufacturing from the source. Instead of using the national bottling lines on the other side of the country, we have elected to create our own bottling line through local partnerships. We strive to become the leading biofuel bottling line in the USA and are happy to talk about bottling your custom Biofuel products.
Packaging: The reason we chose to use steel cans is because they are infinitely recyclable. And with a screw-off top, they become infinitely reusable. In a perfect world, filling stations will become available in your local hardware or grocery store. All the labels on BioLighter cans are from post-consumer recycled material and locally printed using soy based ink.
Transportation: Biolighter is dedicated to using local labor and shipping methods with the least environmental impact. Biolighter will be shipped using locally produced BioDiesel transportation and will be transported by railcar wherever possible. 80% of our employees either bike, walk, or use a biofuel vehicle to get to work!
Responsible BBQ: Biolighter burns three times faster than its competitors. Because of it's unique properties, less fluid is needed to get the charcoals going. When burned, Biolighter emits less particulates, green house gases and carcinogens. The result is cleaner tasting barbecue that reduces health risks.
Carbon Neutral: Through our research, we have learned that BioLighter is considered "Carbon Neutral". (thanks to the above info-graphic from Greenhearts charcoal) Carbon Neutral means that it uses terrestrial carbon that will regrow year after year. Instead of burning petrol, which has been sequestered in the ground for millions of years, BioLighter re-uses industrial waste that is created from naturally grown environmental products. (I.E. Corn or switchgrass)
Education: Biolighter is dedicated to educating consumers on better buying practices and healthier living. Most recently, BioLighter has been used in Ignacio Junior High school to teach science students about the benefits of Biofuels. They are currently working to compare different burn principles to find the best way to cook your food using BioLighter.
A blog is being created which will be dedicated to organic grilling practices and healthier eating. Being an alternative to petroleum based products helps raise awareness about or dependance on fossil fuels and our responsibility to find alternatives. Vastly Different Solutions and BioLighter is dedicated to making products that are safer, better and more responsible.
